112. The Oregon Media already Knows
I saw this on last night's evening news (I thought the piece aired on KOIN, but I can only find the story on KGW's website). What I remember on the newscast had a few details not on this webpage:
*Johnson, the canvasser said he originally was from Ohio, & identified himself as an employee working for Voters Outreach of America.
*When asked how much he was paid, he said he earned $3 for each Republican voter registration, & nothing for a Democratic.
*The newstation found Johnson's supervisor nearby, who refused to appear on camera, but confirmed much of what Johnson said.

FWIW, Johnson is an African-American, as was the spokesperson from the Republican party who denied knowing anything about this sham registration effort.

Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury and Attorney General Hardy Myers plan to investigate allegations that a paid canvasser might have destroyed voter registration forms.

<snip>

Bradbury learned of the conduct from KGW, which interviewed Mike Johnson, 20, a canvasser who said he was instructed to only accept Republican registration forms. He told the TV reporter that he "might" destroy forms turned in by Democrats.
