CNN is reporting that Prime Minister Putin is claiming that Russian intelligence repeatedly warned the US about Iraq plans to commit terrorist acts both inside and outside the United States. Mr Putin said this intelligence was received and passed on to the United States after 9/11 but before the US plans to invade Iraq.
My question is this. Why is Putin attempting to prop up Bush? Clearly this is nonsense IMHO, I just don't understand his motivation. Is there some behind the scenes deal with Russia?
