64. Glad to hear that
about the evolution teaching. I know it was one of those things where evangelicals were getting elected to school boards to influence the teaching of science and evolution--this is NOT a region that I know of this happening. I remember Arkansas was one, Texas another, and Louisiana another. These slimeballs get in on the ground floor and get to a point where they're the majority on the board, so they have no one to challenge them when they pass a vote to allow creationism into the school curriculum.

Glad to see Kansas being able to excape that particular horror.

I drove cross-country in 1989, and had car trouble along the way. I was by myself and some told me I was nuts to go. When my car overheated in Kansas, I had to pull over and let the radiator cool down, and no less than three guys stop to see if they could help out. The third guy actually followed me for 25 miles until he was getting off to make sure I got that far. I know there are good people are everywhere, and that slimeballs are everywhere as well. It doesn't matter what part of the country you're in.
