An unmedicated birth with a midwife in a hospital was $10K 3 years ago. What with epidurals, c-sections, the cost of OB docs, and other interventions on the rise, plus the cost of prenatal care and care for really sick kids in the Newborn ICU, and all the care of those kids and their often MULTIPLE health issues later in life, free birth control seems like a no-brainer.
