Obviously, the chances of her being nominated are next to nothing, and the chances of her being elected, once nominated,
are even less. What Howard is saying is not to think that a horrible Republican candidate will automatically lose (see
Reagan, Bush Lite) if we sit back and gloat.

Of course it PROBABLY won't happen. But we have to stay awake so that it DEFINITELY won't happen. That goes double for
Obama and is campaign team.
