I agree that even with these methods we will not be 100% safe. But America DEMANDS this: That we make everything 100% safe AND THAT we don't not make any consumer activity inconvenient.

That's why I said you have to CHOOSE. American's want it both ways. No pat downs AND a shoe bomber or underwear bomber strikes you'll complain about that too.

In the meantime people are yelling POLICE STATE!!! POLICE STATE!!! When this is NOT. This requires you to have someone pat you down and make sure they do not feel a bomb on you. You DO have a choice - the choice is to not fly. (That's very inconvenient.)

Now, people in America (or the portion that votes) don't really seem to care when Florida disenfranchises the poor or the black from voting by purging the voting roles and then not having a system where you can appeal it before election day.

Americans don't really seem to care when someone dies of a preventable or treatable disease because they are uninsured or underinsured.

America by and large didn't care when we invaded IRAQ for no real reason.

But tell Americans that they'll have to make sure you aren't hiding a bomb next to your genitals by touching you - then the LEFT, the right, the center, the nuts, and the sane all yell police state!!!!!

Boycott air travel and take the train, or the bus. Or fly and go through the scanner. And maybe get a random pat down. Or then - if you're suspicious in ANY WAY (like nervous, or combative, or NOT WHITE) get the cavity search they are allowed to give you. (The difference here is that EVERYONE has the search rules applied to them - not just the poor or the non-white.)

But it saddens me that Americans are so passionate about this minor issue (yes you cancer survivors and rape victims this is MINOR compared to what you have gone through) and yet so callously unaware of just how full of malice America is on some of the other issues I mentioned here.

There are more important fights to fight - fights that you are not fighting now.
