to triple man-power to the Gulf.

After touring an oil-tainted beach here and meeting with local leaders, President Obama on Friday promised Gulf Coast residents he will not abandon the fight against the ongoing oil crisis.

"The media may get tired of the story, but we will not," he said. "We will be on your side and we will see this through."

Obama said he will triple the number of workers involved in cleaning up oiled marshes and beaches and said he sympathized with the thousands of lives the spill has impacted.

Which suggests that he knows the BP response rate has been less than needed, despite the 11th hour bustle.

I haven't watched cable. Maybe they will do that. FOX will do that for sure, but I don't think the print coverage of today's visits that I've seen so far has been unfair to Obama.

They've made this one about BP, that's clear.
