Hey, look, I'm only explaining that the source you posted as "evidence" that we were supposedly shipping the Taliban radical literature right up to 9-11 DOESN'T actually show that. Read the Washington Post article (instead of these articles about the Washington Post article) and you'll see that's pretty clear.

Were we putting efforts into keeping tabs on them in the years preceeding 9-11? Absolutely, but that's nothing shocking. Frankly, I think most of us would agree we should have put a lot more effort into it.

With that said, I generally agree with your criticisms about the dangers of fanatical religious groups, however, I do not believe the mujahideen were backed with any sort of long term strategy in mind whatsoever.
