The Taliban have consistently sheltered al-Qaeda, al-Qaeda is at war with the United States (their words, by the way), the ties between al-Qaeda and 9-11 are pretty clear, and al-Qaeda itself has publicly announced it is responsible for the attacks. Where you're getting lost in all this is beyond me. Go to a world court? Maybe, but you have to capture al-Qaeda's leaders first. To this day, the Taliban have shown absolutely no willingness to do so.

Secondly, generally speaking, the killing is not "indescriminate".

Third, the war is bigger than bin Laden. Anyone who's even remotely paid attention to what's unfolding in Pakistan knows that.
