Name another product where you are not told what the price is until you agree to show them yours and your parents tax returns. What is the price of college? The colleges set a ridiculously high price that almost nobody pays. The real price is "Let's see the tax returns so that we can figure out the max amount that you can pay, and that's the price".

It's outrageous. They should just quote a price like everyone else, and the schools can compete on price like just about every other good and/or service.
