Suicide bomber destroys bridge in Iraq's Diyala

BAGHDAD, June 11 (Reuters) - A suicide car bomber struck
a major bridge in Iraq's volatile Diyala province on Monday,
police said, cutting the span over the Diyala River.

Police said they did not know if there were any casualties.
The bridge, normally guarded by Georgian troops, links the
provincial capital Baquba with villages in the north of Diyala.

No other details were immediately available.

June 11 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq
at 1000 GMT on Monday:

BAGHDAD - The bodies of 16 people who had been shot dead were
found in the mostly Sunni western Karkh part of Baghdad on
Sunday, police said.

MOSUL - Gunmen killed Khaireddine Ahmed, the general director
of the state-run central bank of Mosul, 390 km north of Baghdad,
police said. Two of his guards were also killed.

MOSUL - Four people were found shot dead in Mosul on Sunday,
police said.
