against a ten-year-old's interests, particularly one who is not sexually active.

It certainly is NOT irrefutably life-threatening to forego the vaccine prior to the child's being sexually active.

Therefore, the Courts are NOT likely to compel a parent to permit the vaccination, for that would amount to interfering with the fundamental right to parent.

And before you argue with me, know that I spent over seven years in Dependency/Juvenile Court, both as a social worker and as an employee/contractor for a law firm.

So, the vaccine likely will be optional; it is a virtual certainty that parents will NOT be compelled to vaccinate their young daughter. At the very least, there will be an opt-out provision; moreover, a school would be hard-put to argue that a ten-year-old would be putting dozens of students in danger due to her avoidance of the vaccination.

Is the vaccine a good idea? Perhaps. Should it be mandatory? Heck, NO!
