That's shameful, cutting off debate. And, no offense, but "seems to be the cause" isn't IS THE CAUSE. And we're going to put three shots in our kids, with limited testing that hasn't gone through a full generation? And make it MANDATORY???

Here's what I see:

A vaccine with great promise, that is ALLEGED to prevent cervical cancer. It's NEW, so we don't know if it works forever, or for five years, or for more than that. Why? Because it hasn't been around that long.

A vaccine that they only have tested on GIRLS. Even though BOYS carry the virus as well. No effort, no attempt to test on males at all....yet they want to make this vaccine mandatory...but of course, just for the GIRLS.

A vaccine, that, God willing, won't be like any of these sixties wonder drugs that helped Momma at the expense of the subsequent generation. We don't KNOW, though. Why? Because the drug has not been around LONG ENOUGH.

A drug they want to FORCE children...no, just GIRLS...to take. You can't OPT to take the drug, you must "OPT OUT." There's no active consent process, only an active denial process. To me, that's bullshit. It's as obscene as forcing parents to opt OUT of having the recruiter get their kid's name.

Now, let's move on to that "maker." The maker not only is the one who created the vaccine, they're the ones who did the studies on how "safe" it is. VIOXX, anyone????

The maker has given twenty five times more money to the GOP than the Democrats.

The maker is the one paying the lobbyists to go to all these GOP states, throw money around, get the politicians (who have received lots of Big Pharma political contributions already) on board, and get that vaccine in all the young...GIRLS...in the school system.

The maker gets three hundred and fifty bucks or so per student vaccinated. Do the math. It's a SHITLOAD of money. What could the incentive be, aside from "public health"--could it be....would it be.....MONEY????

I say we need to slow the fuck down. We need to clear this vaccine for boys,too--I notice every son of a bitch touting this drug on TV is a guy, and none of them are in a hurry to shoot up the boys with the shit. We need to make this vaccine optional, and there must be active parental consent before anyone gets it. And if Medicaid won't fund it if it's optional, well, fuck Medicaid. Let Merck convince Congres that it's worth allowing Medicaid to fund an optional vaccine in this instance--and their proof had better include independent, double blind studies. AND studies on BOYS.

I smell something funny here. It smells like money. This thing has moved through the pipeline WAY too quickly, IMO.
