dirty stunt they could think of to derail Clinton-Gore.

Remember that raid on the National Records Center that was orchestrated by Elizabeth Tamposi, the then-Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs? They went in and pulled the passport files for former President Clinton, his mother and Ross Perot.

The law means absolutely nothing to those people, and they'll stoop to whatever measures, legal or otherwise, it takes for them to win.
