31. Umm...around a third of gun owners are women...

the guys with the gun fetishes are lacking in the manly department and they think this makes up for it.

Got news for you guys. It doesn't. Oh, maybe with the hillbilly type of woman who is uneducated and still thinks she should stay home and be pregnant and barefoot - they may think a guy like that is manly. But not the majority of women.

Ummm...roughly a third of gun owners are women, including a lot of DU's finest.

FWIW, my wife is originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts, has a B.A. in English, studies medieval history for fun (one of her favorite books is Barbara Tuchman's A Distant Mirror), has an IQ around 140--and is a gun owner. My sister graduated from NC State with a double major in engineering and mathematics, works as a professional engineer, and is also a gun owner. Might want to reevaluate your stereotypes.

Gun owners are actually somewhat more likely to be college educated than the general population...because owning guns requires disposable income, which means it's easier to be a gun enthusiast if you're college educated.

Don't take this personally, but the only people I've ever met who think guns are sex objects or make you "manly" are people who are unfamiliar with guns. Guns aren't toys; they are precision mechanical instruments, like SLR cameras.
