harrybridges, and I wholeheartedly agree that Mike's stance the Israel-Palestinian issue is what may have played a big role in Mike's disappearance. The Israeli Lobby is very powerful in this country and they just do not tolerate opposing viewpoints regarding Israel's moral righteousness in their policies toward the Palestinians (see "The Israel Lobby by John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt at http://www.lrb.co.uk/v28/n06/mear01_.html). Mike was very explicit in his coverage of the issue.

This was my first thought when I heard about Mike losing his spot on AAR. Something to consider, at least.
