it doesn't matter if you support Chavez and his policies or not. I think Cindy allying with him and wrapping herself in the banner of groups considered radical damages her cause. It was so more effective when she had a single overiding message of anti-Iraq war not wrapped up or tied to any other issues. She symbolized someone who could be your mother, sister, next to neighbor and was only brought into politics by her son's tragic death. Cindy also seemed very effective among "The View" and "Oprah" crowd- middle aged woman. She was an "everyman" and made the anti-war movement more into the mainstream of American thought. Now im afraid the right will dismiss her because of her new "friends."
