As I recall it was about three days before they began restoring order in parts of south Florida.

Absence of National Guard; no food & water distribution for 3 days. That can't happen - not now, not ever.

Saying it "can't" happen doesn't mean it won't. It's terribly naive to think one can demand or wish away the fact that help is not always there when you need it.

My own disaster preparations, for a major earthquake, include complete self-sufficiency for up to two weeks for just myself, or multiple days if I am blessed with opportunities to share my supplies with others.

Nobody could possibly be in a position right now to judge the response to this hurricane. Anyone who makes such a broad-brush condemnation is politicizing the issue. That's what politicians do, and that's why I hate most of them.
