toward the massive, darker-skinned poor of their country, if they hadn't pushed them beyond endurance so that in 1989 they had no choice but to run into the streets in protest, only to be mowed down by Venezuelan President Carlos Andres Perez' troops, this Bolivarian revolution would have been slower in coming.

It started well before Hugo Chavez was sworn in as President of Venezuela in 1999, and it will continue, as the people themselves have said, well beyond his Presidency.

Right-wing Americans who attempt to personalize the plight of the poor in Venezuela as depending on one person are abysmally simplistic, and uninformed. It should be illegal to be that wrong! This is huge, it covers far more than one country, involves millions and millions of people, and they will NOT continue to be divided and conquered by U.S. covert operations and intervention.

I hope you are right about the majority of Americans seeking the truth. You are very positive in your faith in them. I hope they are strong enough to really deserve that kind of respect, and will be looking for answers in the future, rather than swallowing what the oligarchy tells the coporate media it can publish.
