25. Capsule embargo conclusion - ridiculous behavior and policy.
Edited on Mon Dec-25-06 10:56 AM by higher class
The guy was young when he rose up to do something against the ruling party which everyone acknowledges was corrupt. An embargo was placed on the entire island by all countries under the influence of the U.S. for the purpose of causing the downfall of Cuba. Many terrorist acts were taken against Castro and the people by terrorists living in the U.S., terrorists who were becoming citizens sponsored and employed by the CIA, plus the CIA itself. Some on their own. Whether from the embargo side or the terrorist side - they did not bring him down.

Now, 80 and ill - the embargo was a 4 plus decade of ridiculous childish stubborn revenge. And revenge backlash is looming. Again, it will be for the profit of a few.

Not only was the embargo ridiculous, attempts to establish a relationship with the U.S., went nowhere.

Now, whether Castro live two months, two years, or twenty - the ridiculous policy of the U.S. will forever be recorded. Cuban-Americans have held policy makers hostage for four decades. Including all Democrats. I hold all of them in contempt.

Folly. Foolishness. Fools.

Haitians, Guatemalans, Nicaraguans, Salvadoreans - were all disposable and could be massacred and jailed at Guantanamo. Cubans reigned. And special laws written for them and always passed and were supported.

Another shameful blight that our current leaders were responsible for. Misguided? Or paid off.

Sweep it under the carpet or not.

Our leaders facilitated the holding of hate for forty years. A line should have been drawn when the USSR pulled out and when the Berlin Wall fell, at the latest. But the favors to Cuban Americans and those leaving Cuba were improved on. No bigot called someone coming from Cuba an illegal alien, the law said they weren't. And there were no calls for walls around Florida.

And now we see more clearly than ever - the embargo failed.

What a waste. What a waste of our Representatives and Senators devotion and failure at international policy for a buck in their pocket and the hope of a vote.

Always remember, the USSR and The People's Republic of China were priority trading targets for over 30 years. Troops of politicians and business leaders set up trading with Communists.

Other nations recognized how ridiculous the embargo was and ignored it.

The embargo failed to oust Castro. And we should all be embarrassed.

Normally sane people went insane over Castro.
