5. What sick bullshit. I have to say, the nation of Israel did not make...
...the best move on behalf of the Jewish people (as a whole) by wrapping itself in the sheep's skin of Jewishness. The Israeli government arguably represents itself as some defender of Jews when for the last 20 years their conservative governments have caused all kinds of bullshit hell which diasporic Jews, among others, have had to pay for. Its an unnecessary and klunky conflation which is why just about every Diasporic Jew winces whenever Israel makes another high-tech bone-headed move- because they know they'll personally have to deal with it. Granted, if there were liberal governments in place, I guess they could have spent the last 20 years improving the Jewish image, worldwide, whatever that means.

But still it's a dangerous conflation. I guess it's unavoidable the way Israel was set up but it's still gotta suck for the huge number of moderate/liberal Jews whose identity has been hijacked by a conservative government. Many parallels to Bush's hijacking of Christianity for evil ends in his conservative government.
