54. A village mourns
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3078585.stm

To most people who knew him, he was a quiet, gentle man who would always offer a cheery wave and give you the time of day. Few of his neighbours in the rural Oxfordshire villages where David Kelly lived and liked to ramble were aware that he was "a significant person" - that was until his televised appearance before the Foreign Affairs Select Committee.

Only days later, those same neighbours and friends are reeling from the shock that a body has been found on one of the routes he liked to walk along - and all are dumbfounded at the likelihood it is him.

Across the road at the Waggon and Horses pub, the front terrace is filled with reporters speaking hastily in to mobile phones.

Those not in the know, stop and stare, or walk past in wonderment at why this house and least of all this little, one-street village, has suddenly become so newsworthy.
