Depending on the type...it takes an average of 5-7 years for most palms to bear fruit...(Thus)...the death of a palm tree is taken very seriously...I remember one wrinkled (farmer's) face holding up 4 oranges from the ground...and screaming at the camera “Is this freedom? Is this democracy?!”
