Folks, that's the letter from Wisconsin's own 'Congressional Budget Office' organization that shows Walker inherited a surplus.

THEN....

http://host.madison.com/ct/news/opinion/editorial/article_61064e9a-27b0-5f28-b6d1-a57c8b2aaaf6.html

In its Jan. 31 memo to legislators on the condition of the state’s budget, the Fiscal Bureau determined that the state will end the year with a balance of $121.4 million.
To the extent that there is an imbalance -- Walker claims there is a $137 million deficit -- it is not because of a drop in revenues or increases in the cost of state employee contracts, benefits or pensions. It is because Walker and his allies pushed through $140 million in new spending for special-interest groups in January. If the Legislature were simply to rescind Walker’s new spending schemes -- or delay their implementation until they are offset by fresh revenues -- the “crisis” would not exist.

Simple - if Walker is short $137million either you recall his tax cuts to special interests or you recall Scott Walker.

HE IS A LIAR!!!

1. Isn't he the governor who also gave huge pay hikes to people
in his own office? Am I making this up? I seem to recall a thread about it on DU.

3. Sorry, but this doesn't add up
Looking for info about Wisconcin finances I found the following:

For Immediate Release
Tuesday, February 17, 2009
Carla Vigue, Office of the Governor, 608-261-2162
Text of Governor Doyle’s 2009-2011 Budget Address

Protects Priorities for Wisconsin’s Hardworking Families

Speaker Sheridan, Speaker Pro Tem Staskunas, President Risser, Majority Leader Decker, Minority Leader Fitzgerald, Our other Minority Leader Fitzgerald, Congressman Ron Kind, Congressman Steve Kagen, Supreme Court Justices, Constitutional Officers, tribal leaders, members of the Cabinet, distinguished guests, members of the Legislature, and fellow citizens of Wisconsin,

When I stood before you three weeks ago, I laid out the effects of the national economic crisis on our state. We all know that our country is in tough times and it’s probably going to stay tough for a while. We didn’t choose these circumstances. But we will choose how to confront them. Together, we are going to address a budget deficit that stands at $5.7 billion. It will demand hard decisions – but the choices we make will reveal clearly who we are and what we value.

So in February 2009 the PRIOR governor was talking about a 5.7 billion dollar deficit.

So....what gives?
