Police arrested an Occupy Orlando demonstrator outside City Hall today for writing on a sidewalk with chalk.

Officers arrested Timothy Osmar, of South Carolina, at 4:15 p.m. today as he began to write "The revolution will not be televised" on a sidewalk with pink chalk.

Police records show that Osmar, 25, was charged with violating an ordinance that restricts writing or painting on a sidewalk or paved street in the city. The chalk was placed into evidence.

Demonstrator James Hill said the group had been writing slogans on the sidewalk, such as "We are the 99 percent" and "Justice equals liberty" for most of the afternoon.
