I'd Like To Thank WI Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson... You Might Want To Read This..
Thank you for your honesty, Your Honor.

<snip>

In a blistering dissent, Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson wrote that the majority decision was "hastily" reached and has unsupported conclusions. She said a concurring opinion written by Justice David Prosser, a former Republican speaker of the Assembly, was "long on rhetoric and long on story-telling that appears to have a partisan slant."

Abrahamson said the majority "set forth their own version of facts without evidence. They should not engage in this disinformation."

3. We knew this was going to happen. That is why it was so important for him
to "win" the election.

5. If we "knew" this was going to happen, then a pox on the house of every Democrat who didn't vote
for Kloppenburg. I can guarantee you that thousands of them did not vote.

Choices, meet consequences.

Oh, and Republicans are not omnipotent, they cannot steal elections at will. If they are, then we should simply quit now and save the effort. Only close elections are in any jeopardy of being stolen, so if anyone wants a Democrat to win, then they had better get their asses out and VOTE!!! or STFU about stolen elections.

7. Agreed.
We fought hard and brought this race close when we were 30 points behind 8 weeks before the election but we need to do better.

Please help these fine folks fight Walker, AFP, Citizens United and the Koch Brothers: http://www.wisdems.org/candidates (I am posting this in every thread on the topic)

19. RepubliCONS are not omnipotent but they know how to rig elections.
No matter how many voted against Prosser in WI, Prosser would have won. It was rigged from the start. No they can't know everything, but everything is not what they need to know to rig elections. They merely needed to know how much ahead Kloppenburg was and add in the necessary votes at the last minute, or after a few days with some pretense of "errors were made" and recounts of the same fake votes.

It's actually very simple to rig a state's voting system. And it is very obvious this and many other elections have been rigged. But Americans don't seem to mind. They go through all sorts of mental gymnastics to pretend our voting system is fair and accurate. But you know what they say, "Admitting you have a problem is half the battle." As long as the majority of Americans wont admit that our voting system is rigged, and consider stolen elections to be nothing more than conspiracy theories, nothing will change.

4. With control of the executive, the bench, and the legislature the gop has subverted the Constitution.

Willfully and purposefully so. Sadly, again, the evil that has been done transcends our own best efforts. Can this nation, as founded, persevere?

By "best efforts", I am referring to "us" in the much larger sense of our common human desire for a viable and equitable governing system. Like Ben Franklin said, and I'm paraphrasing, You have a republic, if you can keep it. That's the hardest part, the keeping.

8. Hastily reaching judgment....
"Those who would rush to judgment on these matters are essentially taking the position that getting this opinion out is more important than doing it right and getting it right."

Wisconsin education!

I always thought my home state was better off, compared to where I've lived my adult years. After today's decision it could be a toss-up.

13. More from her written opinion:
"This fundamental principle of judicial review was described in Federalist No. 78,6 which emphasized the importance of the separation of powers and of an independent judiciary to ensure that legislative enactments are consistent with the constitution."

There is no liberty, if the power of judging be not separated from the legislative and executive powers.
