Fayette County Chair endorses Biden in his blog
Writings from “The Text Wing....”

On January 3rd, Iowa Democrats will come together to pick our nominee to become the next President of the United States.

Senator Joe Biden is my choice.

As a group the Democratic candidates for 2008 are an especially deep field, all having the potential to be great leaders of our nation. Some became historic merely by virtue of their candidacy. Despite the sterling quality of the group as a whole, must judge them individually.

Senator Biden offers an incredibly persuasive combination of knowledge of foreign affairs a history of overcoming challenges and experience as Senator in some of the most dangerous years in the history of our nation. Through it all he has remained a constant voice of reason, speaking out on the vital issues even when the current Administration questions the patriotism of those who voice concerns or are skeptical.

Though candidates run as individuals their actions reflect on each and every one of us and the nation as a whole. A Biden Presidency would epitomize essential dreams and values that make our nation great. It would re-establish America's standing in the world community after nearly eight years of free fall.

My support for the Senator goes deeper than a simple recitation of his qualifications. It extends to the personality of the individual and how he became to be the man he is today. He suffered the loss of a wife and child in a horrific accident and he came face to face with his own mortality in two brain aneurysms. The tempered perspective of someone who has faced these trials is just what we need in the Oval Office today.

As current chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Biden has been on the forefront of the Iraq War issue and his innovative approach in dealing with Iraq has become the blueprint for other candidates on both sides of the aisle. It is this innovative thinking, grounded in history that exemplifies Biden at his finest.

America needs someone to lead. Someone willing to face that we ultimately can’t afford to screw things up any further, someone who knows the score of the game doesn’t change simply by refusing to look at the scoreboard.

The next President of the United States must be that leader -- someone who will unite us
together with common values rather than separating us by artificial distinctions.

That man is Senator Joe Biden.

I invite you all to contact the Biden campaign to learn more about the Senator. Please feel free to visit JoeBiden.Com.

Sincerely,
Chuck Taylor
