This will be short but sweet. It has been well-documented as to the creepy and anti-progressive policies that the Koch brothers support. Their major holdings are very difficult to boycott -- other than the promotion of clean energy and environmental laws, you may be stuck buying their energy products, directly or indirectly. However, they do produce some consumer products that you should put to memory to NEVER purchase again.

They are listed here: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/8/24/895947/-Boycott-Koch-Products

Jane Mayer's excellent exposé in The New Yorker: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2010/08/30/100830fa_fact_mayer?currentPage=all">Covert Operations: The billionaire brothers who are waging a war against Obama

In case you missed Rachel's excellent interview with Mayer: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=385x498570">Rachel Maddow & Jane Mayer look at who is funding the push for right wing idiocy: the Koch brothers

Also, lest it goes down the memory hole that last September it was the Koch brother's AFP who were behind the witch hunt against Van Jones...

Those are the same Koch brothers I talked about here in my DK diary back in Sept last year: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/9/9/779019/-Big-Oil-Lobbyist-Was-Behind-the-Van-Jones-Witch-Hunt">"Big Oil" Lobbyist Was Behind the Van Jones Witch Hunt

And a DU OP I posted at the same time: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8632338">OK, I've found out that it was a "big oil" lobbyist behind the Van Jones smear campaign

1. I remember that last OP and your excellent research
on the Van Jones smear campaign. Our problem is we are not organized the way they are, or funded. A lot of people warned at the time that if Democrats caved on Van Jones, they would simply move on to the next target, and they did.

Without leadership and organization on the left, these cockroaches will just keep multiplying. We are always playing catch-up with them. Instead of eg, taking a stand on the ACORN smear campaign and focusing on it until justice was done, we just moved on. Same thing with Sherrod and Breitbart, and Van Jones. They move on and we follow, never actually accomplishing anything.

There needs to be some way to develop counter organizations that can pressure the media to cover stories like ACORN eg, because the average person still thinks they were guilty of what they saw on Fox News, and that's 'mission accomplished' as far as these corrupt, lying anti-American thugs are concerned.

It really is a war, an idealogical war and only one side is armed.

Where are the billionaire funders on the left? We can write and report on these people but without the kind of media influence they have, this story too, like ACORN, Van Jones and so many others, will pass.

What these two are doing borders on treason. They are actively out to destroy this administration and harm this country. But who is going to stop them?

Thanks for your efforts, Turborama. I hope this doesn't pass with the usual short attention span we seem to have. The internet could have been a great force for good. It still could be. But fighting the kind of monsters that are out to destroy this country from within, requires organization and leadership and money. They seem to have endless sources while the 'left' seems to be totally ineffective.

8. Reviewing your reply in that thread a year later, I notice the same questions being asked
It's sort of no wonder they can get away with what they do if nobody's going to ever learn from it.

Even though Maddow and Mayers have both done good work on shining the light on these nefarious bastards' activities, still to this day neither of them or Keith have done anything on how they were behind shortening poor Van Jones' career in the Administration.

Your last paragraph says it all, sadly. In fact, your whole reply does. I just hope that this time next year were not saying the same things again.

19. I agree with #4 so you can keep blushing Lol!
Seriously, your OPs are among the best on DU and I try never to miss them.

I see I had commented in your original story on this also. I just wish we had some wealthy billionaires on our side also.

Is one of the greatest compliments I have ever received since I started writing online and I feel sincerely honored. Thank you.

I feel the same way about your OPs, which are a lot more original & well written than mine.

6. I don't buy any of their products

Seventh Generation makes great recycled paper products (and cleaning products). I stay away from Home Depot, which helps.
Their products are as crappy as these brothers are.
