Poll question: What's a good benchmark that indicates progress in the Green Zone?
If we achieve Glorious Victory, the (current) mission will be complete and our troops can come home from Iraq. At the moment, we have no measurements to accurately tell us when we are Victorious.

Having experienced incoming on a regular basis during my two tours in Vietnam, I can attest it ain't fun. (One of the things I like about Boston is we haven't had any rocket or mortar attacks in the 30+ years I've been living heah.)

For purposes of this poll, I would like to keep this proposed benchmark tight and focused on something simple.

1. Progress in the Green Zone? The question makes no sense.
The Green Zone is an excluded, highly protected area that was basically untouched until the surge. Now, it's a target. All progress has been negative.

This thread would be the same as polling prostitutes: "How are you coming along with your virginity?"

4. Ah. Now THERE is a benchmark for Green Zone progress:
No U.S. troops, diplomats, or politicians.

8. Its destruction
The Green Zone is an enclave of colonial rule and the headquarters of Iraq's rape by foreign corporations and their corrupt political stooges. Its existence symbolises the Washington and Baghdad regimes' failure to provide security or dignity to Iraqis. The US needs to bring its troops home and leave patriotic Iraqis to wipe that obscene imposition from the face of their city.
