I gave him a D. As one delegate at the Copenhagen climate talks put it, "Bush is in kindergarten, Obama is in first grade." If Bush is an F, and he is, Obama has to be one step up, despite my personal disappointment. IMO, YMMV.

healthcare affects every one of us. It is a matter of life and death in many cases. It was also controversial. This president does not like controversial items of any kind and avoids them whenever he can.

He should have been instrumental in seeing to it that all his presidential influence was brought to bear. He did not. Life for him went merrily on it's way during the course of the healthcare fracas.

Add in the expanding wars, Wall Street bailouts, tearing up public education, not tossing over DADT and attacking those who oppose him but not the traitors within his own party, and he has lost me. There are numerous good things he has done, but none of them in ANY area truly important to long-term DeBushification and the restoration of America to it's people. (I mean DeBushification in both senses, philosophically and in the "DeNazification to get rid of corruption" sense)

And he has sold us out to our Corporate Aristocratic Masters faster than I ever could have imagined on just too many things and his (w)ussy puling "bipartisan" shit after the last 30 and especially the last 10 years, is perplexing not to mention grotesque.

Am I grateful that he's not McPalinCrazy? Of course, but I also see that long-term conditions are unchanged and he has no interest in making any significant changes to our dying system now morphing (or already morphed) into Inverted Totalitarianism (Google it) before our eyes.

I decided to give both equal weight, though, and give him a generous C, even though he is doing NOTHING to ensure that we won't see a greater and more horrifying Bushification of our nation deeper into naked Inverted Totalitarianism with increasing chance of good ol' Classical Totalitarianism if the 30 million Hannidiots/Dittoheads/Savage Weiners are needed to be "activated" with just a little Permission From Authority.

Whether he's corrupt or sincere, in on it, or just overwhelmed & mistake-prone, it doesn't matter. The only thing left that matters is what he does and what happens in the future because of what he did, or more likely, DIDN'T do.

In either case, the Aristocracy, through our Corporations, continues to swell in power and wealth concentration. Our voting system is still shot and there nothing going to be done on that. Obama's DOJ recommended letting off Alberto Gonzales when his perjured testimony is on tape for anyone to see, also on tape is the Director of the FBI's testimony contradicting Gonzales repeatedly. (if having the Director of the FBI contradict your sworn testimony in front of millions of witnesses isn't perjury, then WTF IS???)

And on and on and on, with no relief in sight, just sitting here waiting for 2010 or 2012 or if we're lucky, 2016 (which seems impossible given that the M$M is still pretty much unchanged, too, constantly dancing to the tune the RW Lie Machine plays)
