Austin City Limits concertgoers party in "treated" sewage
Not sure I buy into all the ooze and ahs over music festival

Ken Herman, AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN
Tuesday, October 06, 2009

My first-ever foray to ACL had me looking for the ACLU.

Did I have the right to know in advance I was going to be wallowing in compost for 10 hours or so?

The looks-like-chocolate-pudding, smells-like-something-else mush that coated Zilker Park after the rain at the Austin City Limits festival was Dillo Dirt, the city's trademarked compost.

Here's the dirt on the Dirt, according to the city: "All yard trimmings collected curbside across the city, as well as some of our treated sewage sludge, are combined and composted to create Dillo Dirt."

7. We have that in the next town over, and you can buy it at greenhouses for use at home, which I do,
because it cracks me up.
