61. I am so proud for her to demonstrate dignity by not playing the Stepford wife anymore...
Not that she was ever in that mode, really, but being a wife of a presidential candidate demands a certain phony adoring-look game and she refuses to play it anymore! In fact, she looks like she wants to hit him with a frying pan!

What is truly sad is that Edwards looks completely unaware of her wrath and only focused on the mics in front of him.

However, I wish these guys had the common sense to not think with their dicks when they have so much at stake. John may turn his legacy around in time too. It's too bad he didn't learn from the mistakes of others.

39. That's my hope!
I grew up in SW VA, just about 10 miles from the NC border and, fake accent notwithstanding, he never really had the support of Appalachian pro-labor people, not in any meaningful way. If he had, he could at least have swung NC in '04 (Obama did, and Virginia too, overcoming racism which is still significant there!). No, back home they called him "Senator Gone." He never did jack shit for his constituents. He might have argued that, hey, as VP he might have had more power to do so...

in retrospect, I wish Kerry had picked ANYONE else. Gephart, Dean, Hillary, you name it. Anyone else would have helped more, and if Kerry had won free and clear (i.e. by a margin that couldn't be stolen) in '04, I sincerely believe there are, at least, a thousand people in New Orleans who would've been saved. And every single of one of those lives is, as the Jewish tradition has it, the WHOLE world.

Don't get me wrong. I blame the Repukes a million times more. It's just that John Edwards was, ultimately, after all the sound and fury, no help.

what he did can't be undone, and, quite frankly, can't be forgiven.

I do not, for one moment, think that this caper was John's first affair. I am not fresh off the boat.

Elizabeth's just finally had enough. And now the odds are that baby is his.

How much betrayal can one woman endure while she's living with an impending death sentence?

would just get off the stage. He's become a joke and an embarrassment. It's sad really but I've lost all sympathy for him and just wish he would go away. His career in politics is over.

I feel bad for Elizabeth but she knew about this when he was running. What a disaster it would have been for the Democratic Party if he had been the 2008 nominee and this would have come out.

Stay classy, John, if you can.
