Wasn't it the Republican's that said Privately owned schools being subsidized by the government wouldn't close down public school's but would make them more competitive? So were they lying then or now?

not that I agree with them.. I am still pro single payer and will be very upset if we need to settle for some bull shit cop out... err co-op

That's what they really wanted to do. So when they say that a public plan would kill private insurance companies...what they are really doing is admitting that they knew that private schools WOULD KILL public schools...
Anyway, just occured to me they are speaking out of both sides of their mouths...Either private promotes competition in public operations or it doesn't...with them it seems it depends on which interests they are protecting...
