And their view of spirituality is deeper,not as rigid,limited and controlling of ones spiritual seeking and non believers lives like the fundies.Yazidis are pretty cool if you ask me and the concept of Melek Taus is just beautiful.In my other post below notice the circle cross Melek is standing on..that is a symbol of gnosis and the Earth.To me it symbolically looks like the world awakening to gnosis with the help of the Peacock Angel .

9. The only Gnostics I know of in Iraq are the Mandeans,

but I'm not sure if they call themselves Christians or not. I think (but I'm not sure) that they have been called "St. John's Christians" by others because of their reverence for John the Baptist. This is all half-assed from memory...it's been too long since I read this stuff! But I often wonder about the Mandeans and how (or if) they are surviving all the carnage. About the only thing I know about them for sure is that they are an ancient indigenous Gnostic sect.

5. The Yazidis aren't Christian, their religion is quite complex

as are it's origins, but they do not follow or worship Jesus in any sense, and are not Christians in any way. So my guess is the Administration doesn't care at all, as all they care about are certain Christians.

8. Yes, well. Not all Kurds are Yazhidis.

I met one Kurd once. As a result, I am fond of Kurds and wish them well. However, I am not sure about Yazhidis. They rank with the Taliban for me right now.

Du'a Khalil Aswad (c. 1989 or 1990 – c. April 7, 2007) was a 17 year old Iraqi Kurd of the Yazidi faith who was stoned to death in an honor killing.<1> It is believed that she was killed around April 7, 2007, but the incident did not come to light until video of the stoning, apparently recorded on a mobile phone, appeared on the Internet.<2>

Motive

Some reports say she was murdered by Iraqi Kurdish men who were also Yazidis, some of them her relatives, for having converted to Islam to marry an Iraqi Sunni Muslim boy.<1><3> Whether the Sunni Muslim boy in question was also an Iraqi Kurd or an Iraqi Arab has not been established.

It is disputed whether or not she actually converted to Islam; some reports say the Sunni boyfriend has denied that she had.<1> Other sources instead indicate that Du’a Khalil Aswad was killed in punishment for being absent from her home one night.<4>

Whether it's hate crimes, seperation church and state, gay marriage, insert issue here, some believe that they get the rights cuz they gots god and the rest of the world can just go hang.
