Also, Jane Hamsher tells us that Dodd will filibuster FISA now that Reid has ignored Dodd's hold on the bad telecom immunity bill.

1. Love the low-tech look
"I'm standing here in my office in front of a minicam with no lighting and no teleprompter to get the word out on something I believe in."

You go Chris.

6. I signed his petition, he has my support.
We all know that the wiretapping was illegal and it started well before 9-11.
I sent Dodd a thank you email. I think the democrats in office really NEED to hear from us, and OFTEN.

I remember thinking that SCHIP override would be an easy win - but what a shock! What the hell happened? What's going on here?!! I sent a few emails about this today. I can't believe it - this is such a no-brainer.

3. They didn't just turn over records. They let the Govt divert the whole data lines for data mining.
They are caught and they know it. It was there own employees that saw the whole sordid affair and traced the equipment that was being used. These IT professionals knew something was up and they found out what it was. Part of the story is told in Front line's "Spying on the Home Front."

Diverting personal information in whole for data mining and storage by the government against all the post Nixon laws. The administration has used a special computer program that uses a "six degrees of separation" type profiling technique to see if one citizen has at any time known, been in the same city at the same time, used the same dentist, gone to the opera at the same time as another person they might consider "a person of interest." You could be considered "under suspicion" due to the fact that your credit card show you went to the same show and have the same doctor as a questionable person. Coincidence? Well According to "The Military Commissions Act" you could be deemed to be an "enemy combatant" just for your associations. Ahhh.... Remember? Remember the freedom to freely associate? (I digress)

The Military Commissions act gives several definitions of "enemy combatant" and states that an individual is determined to be one by "the president the secretary of defense or someone under the authority of the president or secretary of defense(whether as individual or collectively) They take great care to say WHO can call YOU and ME an enemy combatant.
They take great care to say what they fell an enemy combatant is.
They DO NOT take any time to say how they KNOW THIS INFORMATION

My guess is a OUIJA BOARD

They do take some time to express how busy they are and how bothersome it would be to actually have to PROVE any of the things that they "feel" or "know" or "suspect" to be true about you, me or anyone else. They sate in the Commission act that Time would be lost in the field if they had to collect "evidence or get "eyewitness testimony". And forget getting anyone into a court to get them under oath to testify, that they say would be "impractical." That is why they say they need to do away with those pesky hearsay rules. We simply do not understand the trouble we put these poor fellas through when we ask them to follow the rules. We all know George (King George The II I like to call the little brat) likes to have the game tilted a degree or so in his favor or he won't play.

Common' we all knew a kid like George when we were in school. He owned the ball. He would only play he if could be up first and if he got five strikes instead of three. His mother kept the plastic on the furniture or never let the other kids in the house on rainy days.

We all know him. Most of us could not stand him then but some of us found him oddly amusing. But in your wildest dreams you never thought this ball field mama's boy who has to bully from a safety zone just to make himself fell better, this brat who needs every rule bent just to feel qualified to play the game would ever have the power to call you "enemy combatant"

No questions asked.

I'm with Sen. Dodd, I'll sign. FISA and The Enemy Combatants may seem like two different issues, but believe me they are not.

9. It is Bush's crime they participated in. The immunity is to make the issue go away in part
for Bush. Meanwhile, it's in the news, etc.
