This is what the pure betrayal of Democratic principles looks and feels like.

6. I sincerely hope that the people of Missouri will rectify this unfortunate mistake.
The opportunity will come in 2012.

4. I was never that fond of her. She once said she would be afraid to leave her daughter in a room
with Bill Clinton, and I thought that was pretty cheap shot to take at another democrat.

Not only are her comments about the public option hard to take, her comments about that creep Wilson were, too. I don't agree with her on either point.

9. Yeah, now I remember
She saw all the money being thrown around by the MIC and couldnt help herself.

I bet if the liberals were popular with the corporations she would be more liberal than Kucinich.

She's just that shallow.

11. Amazing.
Usually it takes even a purple state senator at least a full term before they completely sell out to corporate interests. This may be a record.

14. I watched it.
Pure strawman gobbledeegook.
She pretends the "public option" might easily morph into a total government takeover. And breathes a sigh of relief that the "handcuffs" of funding limits will prevent that from happening.
It's her way of excusing her support of the public option to the conservatives in her state.
Maybe I'm just naive, but that's how I heard it.
I've never much liked her....and now I loathe her even more. But it sounds to me like she's going to support the thing.

16. She's doubtlessly thinking short-term...
trying to placate teabaggers with their blind hatred of gummint, by severely restricting the public option. I swear, I haven't seen another pol so plainly terrified of teabaggers. But by 2010, let alone 2012 when she has to stand for re-election, results--including cost control--will count more than the phantom menace of gummint, so I suspect she's hurting her prospects for re-election.

"Third Way" on Public Option: Make One that Can't Work
by mcjoan

Mon Jun 08, 2009 at 09:40:05 AM PDT

The "progressives" at Third Way, that moderate public policy think thank tank that apparently exists to make the DLC look like regular liberal firebrands, turned their hyper-incrementalist bullshit domestic policy sites on something that matters: the public option in the health care reform package.

This leaked draft of their upcoming policy paper shows that they're not even going for a hyper-incrementalist watering down of the public option--they're trying to kill it. Here's their premise:

...."

Say "NO!" To The DLC On Jettisoning The Public Option!

by slinkerwink

Tue Aug 25, 2009 at 08:35:01 AM PDT

"The Third Way, a think tank that calls itself "progressive" but really isn't a progressive think tank, came out with this nauseating op-ed in the Roll Call, a congressional newspaper, telling us progressives to accept a shit sandwich without the public option.

As we move into the final make-or-break months of the health care debate, every progressive should, in the James Carville tradition, put a simple warning on the wall: Do not snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. While many are fighting passionately for one particular policy proposal, such as a public plan, it would be tragic to allow the inclusion or exclusion of any single element to derail reform..."

24. we miss the point if we do not understand that her reference 2
"handcuffing" government funds from going into the public option (AS IT ALWAYS HAD BEEN PROPOSED - hello!) was an ESSENTIAL and helpful piece to debunk "gubment take over batshit crazy" mantras all over the airwaves that contribute to TEH STUPID, especially in her state.

The fine point she put on it will actually allow her to VOTE IN FAVOR of a public option within the exchange, and still retain the fiscally conservative face required in Missouri politics ... she campaigned her heart out for Obama, way back when it was hardly popular for her to take on such a political risk, and even if by the skin of their teeth, Missouri came in for Obama ... it's worth a longer and wiser look before any of us judge or jump too quickly ... so soon we forget

26. OMG. She is Awful with a capital "A"
How she managed to disgust me on that many topics in less than 2 minutes might be a record.

She's gotta go.

And she's just a twittering twit too. Talking Points Memo has Twitter updates, and I swear she's one of the heaviest users - especially inane "what we ate on our picnic" type tweets. I'm not big on Twitter but check it on occasion (if you look at the bottom of the page, you can switch to the Repub Twits to see their lies too):
