Just wanted to post this video, as a reference*, showing Obama riding tandem with his younger daughter, Sasha, on Sunday (6/9).




* as a reference against any idiots posting ridicule of Obama based on the cropped AP photos distributed with the original story. For example, from Monday's AC360 on CNN...

Sign me up. Dorks usually know what is going on in the world and care about things. Unlike the always super cool people that only care about themselves. In fact, Brad Pitt is a bit of a dork (okay he is just plain dorky at times by the world's standards) and he is fine.

3. Weird. I just saw this post with about 35 comments and the OP stating Sasha's face was cropped

for security reasons.

I don't know where that post went, but I wonder why her face would be cropped when it's on the Obama website.

I posted the "security concerns" comment, having heard it from Patrick at the AP's East Coast Editing Desk, 212.621.1900. I called AP Corporate Communications today, and they shed no add'l light. It's possible the "security concerns" may be related to showing the identities of Secret Service personnel, too much detail of the surroundings near Obama's house, etc. No idea, really.

4. I don't have a problem

with Obama looking like your average dorky middle-aged white dad taking his kids for a bike ride......sorta pokes a hole in the "elitist" tag doesn't it?
I love the guy, but don't you think this was staged? It seems like it to me, I mean, of coarse he kicks it with the kids whenever he can, but I think the dorky white dad look was a little bit of subtle symbolism.
well, if I was advising his campaign, I'd be recommending humanizing photo-ops like this.

5. If Obama looks like a dorky white dad...

It's because he IS a dorky white dad. And who says there is something wrong with being dorky? He's intelligent and a bit on nerd side - IMO, that's someone that can get things done in the white house. I don't understand what he's supposed to do to make himself more cool? Take off the helmet? If he did that they'd be saying that he's not safe enough. I mean, can't the guy where some jeans and go on a ride with his daughter? I've never done the tandem thing, but something tells me that you can't just hop on and never have done it before. He probably does this with his family all the time as an activity.

Then the panel went on to contrast Bush's macho mountain bike to Obama's, and suggested he had a flat tire. And of course they only used certain parts of the video, not the part with Sasha and he cruising along the water, so that a tender moment would not be shown, their intention clearly to make Obama look weak.

It was good stuff, you know, for stupid people.
