Camp Casey Easter - round 2
Edited on Tue Apr-18-06 10:51 PM by proud2Blib
Awesome t-shirt!
'Republicans for Voldemort'

My awesome kid sitting in with Emma's Revolution on Friday

The Jimbabes (sp?)

The bikers are coming! The bikers are coming!

On the bikers' heels - angry war mongers on horses

And, bringing up the rear, local law enforcement

This is Geoff, an Iraq war vet.
He held up this sign when the bikers came by.
It says 'Troop (with an up arrow following) Support?'
Geoff spoke beautifully. He told us what it was like to be in Iraq, where the only news the troops see is faux snooze.

Geoff and Charlie, another Iraq vet, with Rev. Lowrey

Cindy's daughter Carly, reading her beautiful poem

12. Sunday is a Boyda fundraiser at the Hollow
5 p.m., usual rules: potluck, BYOB, grills, bonfire & soft drinks provided. And yes, the upstairs room will also be available for use in furthering political discussions among the usual crowd.

We held a fundraiser for Nancy out there a couple of years ago during the 2004 cycle and she loved it. She wanted to hold a fundraiser there this year primarily because of the tire swing. She loves that thing. It also gives her a chance to really let her hair down and mingle with the people. Although truthfully, last time she spent most of the time playing with the kids and the tire swing.

April 29 is the date of the next open bonfire party (potluck, BYOB, grills & soft drinks provided). We call it an "open" party to distinguish it from the "closed" parties that are held at the Hollow. Closed parties are when someone is using the Hollow for private birthday parties, group retreats or for some other specific invitation-only event. There aren't that many closed events during the year. The 4th of July is usually "closed" although no one is ever turned away. We could hold a closed party at the Hollow almost any time, we just need to let Rex know.

15. Drop on by afterward
My biggest problem with it being Sunday earlyt evening is that I may have to record and watch "The Sopranos" and "Big Love" later. I'm addicted.

17. MuseRider is coming
Edited on Wed Apr-19-06 11:50 AM by Mabus
we could make this could a mini-DU meet-up. At the very least we could all convene in the upper room for a small discussion and exchange of ideas. That's the main reason I go to the Hollow.

on edit: bring the kids. I think they'd love it.

19. We start about 5 and will go to about 8
Nancy will be here from 5 to 7:30. Around 6:30 she'll sit down to talk to everyone as a group. Before and after that you can talk to her one on one (provided she's not occupied in the tire swing).
