Enough with Ford's ceremonies already.
Jeeze...for the past week in the news it's been nothing but nonstop coverage of services, minute-by-minute updates on the casket's current location, etc, etc, etc.

The man is dead, for God's sake. Let's move on already.

But then, unlike SLIMEBALL FORD, both CARTER and CLINTON were GREAT PERSONS and WONDERFUL Presidents who TRULY made the world a better place!!

Ford = SLIMEBALL

Carter = Nobel Peace Prize WINNER

Clinton = Good President!

See the Difference??!!!

15. Hmm.
Could you possibly think in more black and white terms? I hate to dash your delusional little contstruct, but Carter supported Indonesia in East Timor, not to mention the thugs in El Salvador and Nicaragua. Even after Archbishop Romero sent Carter a letter begging him not to continue arming the murderous thugs, Carter did so. Romero, of course, was murdered.
Clinton supported the sanctions against Iraq that killed so many.

Humans are complex. They make terrible mistakes. That does not, in and of itself, make them terrible, evil people.

17. SO. EVEN BEFORE HE DIES!!!!
So.

Even before the death of President Jimmy Carter (who was definitely NOT a perfect President), there are SOME on THIS VERY MESSAGE BOARD who would suggest that IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE whether a DEMOCRAT or a SLIMEBALL REPUBLICAN IS IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!

I CANNOT BELIEVE MY EYES when I read posts like yours!!!!

Is this or is this not DEMOCRATIC Underground???!!!!!

Yet, EVEN BEFORE THEY DIE, you are quite willing to call me "DELUSIONAL" because I state that CARTER and CLINTON were NOWHERE NEAR the SLIMEBALL that Ford and Nixon were!!!!

I'll tell you what --- I'll Continue my little "delusional" posts DEFENDING DEMOCRATIC PRESDIENTS LIKE CLINTON and CARTER.

YOU and YOUR KIND can be the kind who delight in TEARING DOWN some of the GREATEST PRESIDENTS who have ever served.

YOU and YOUR KIND can be the ones who think that CLINTON and CARTER were NO BETTER than NIXON and FORD!!!!!

WTF???!!!!!

19. Do you make it a habit to be hysterical and misinterpret
everything. I've never said it makes no difference whether a repub or a dem is in the WH. I've never voted for a republican for President, and I can't imagine ever doing so. Of course I think Carter and Clinton were better than Ford. As for Nixon- phht. You missed the point entirely.

BTW, do you think all republicans are evil scum? Because you'll really flip a gasket when I tell you I happily voted for a repub for US Senator as recently as 2000, and I've never regretted the votes I cast for dear old Senator Jeffords.

YOU are the one who seems intent on tearing down his accomplishments, and EQUATING him to SLIMEBALL FORD!!!

29. Bill Clinton was NOT "one of the greatest Presidents who ever served"
Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Not by adopting Republican issues like welfare reform.

And certainly NOT by caving in on a "compromise" like "Don't Ask Don't Tell" and signing a truly disgusting piece of legislation, the Defense of Marriage Act.

As it was said on another post, reflecting on the legacies of past Presidents, it isn't all black and white.

33. I'm hoping Carter is planning something much simpler...
assuming that he passes before Clinton. I think Clinton will probably want all of the pomp and circumstance, but something tells me Carter won't.

This is all getting so imperialistic and needs to be toned down imo.

At any rate, Poppy is looking very bad and will probably be the next one, all bets are off for what the Bush clan has planned, it will probably resemble a Roman circus. But I do know this, there won't be one tear shed from my eyes.

43. I'm fairly certain that I've read that Carter does have plans
for a state funeral. I suspect that all the pomp and circumstance will be present there as well. Really not surprising We don't have many Presidents, and humans, including Americans, seem to have an inate need for ceremony and ritual. The state, of course, doesn't mind capitalizing on this fact in the least.

Or read it a book, listen to music, write emails or letters, or do any of the zillion things that don't constitute either following the Ford funeral or being in a "sensory deprivation chamber"
