Was that Nora O'Donnell? I caught a few minutes of that, and a more obnoxious bitch I have never seen in my life! She kept saying that what Cindy wanted was "radical," to just pull our troops out of Iraq right now. She was talking about how nobody in Congress was in favor of that. I thought to myself, "The HELL with Congress! Get a clue, lady! Most of the American people, and certainly most Democrats, realize the Iraq war was a huge mistake and they want OUT! As soon as possible!" What the hell is so "radical" about that?

In any case I agree that woman is a rude, obnoxious bitch. She was downright accusatory, but not having seen her before (that I recall) I had nothing to compare her with. I've never seen her interviewing a Republican.

I just watched the Cindy Sheehan interview & I have to say, if our country weren't in such a mess, I would have been amused by Nora Roberts' feigned naivete.

"You're trashing George Bush," she said over & over, as though the worst president in U.S. history had approval ratings in the 90's. And brusquing up her voice to appear superior to Cindy Sheehan didn't work on me; rather, it seemed Nora Roberts were auditioning for the Faux News Cheerleading Network.

Btw, Nora, did you know that Faux News' ratings have been dropping like a lead weight? Better get with the times, gal. Cheerleading for this disastrous administration is no longer effective. Once people get turned off, there's nothing you can do to win them back.

About wanting to call attention to the protest of the occupation of Iraq. She wants people around the world to know that all Americans are not with the president.
Nora said that nobody in Congress supported immediate withdrawal, but Cindy named lots of names, even Republicans, and said she expects the numbers to grow.

She could barely contain the glee in her voice when she mentioned that the Kerry-Feingold resolution "went down in flames". I felt like throwing up.

I also think Cindy deserves praise for this interview. Despite the GOP bullshit we constantly hear about her being insane, she seemed more human here than any of the assholes running the country the past six years.

I understand why she said it but it detracts from her message.

It might be better to issue statements rather than grant interviews while on a hunger strike. Most interviews are hostile and her razor sharp wit might be compromised without food.

It might be a good idea to set a finite duration for the hunger strike. The effect might be about the same.

I don't want to see her do anything that might compromise her health.
