December was the month that the KOEB really started to coalesce.

It was a month of much turmoil at DU, when the great Keith Olbermann/Bev Harris debate took place and overwhelmed the boards, causing our beloved administrators to step in and organize the wildly flying posts into one semi-coherent discussion.

I am only documenting the main discussion threads below, because there were just too darn many of them out there!

first time, although I don't think I made it to the nightly threads until some time in January. I started lurking on DU in early November, but didn't join until mid-December. I enjoyed re-reading the November threads yesterday, greenie, 'cause I remember seeing them the first time and trying to figure out who everyone was. Quite different, going back now and reading them when you know a lot of the players.

70. I think a lot of the pissiness that led to our eviction

had more to do with stressing out over what was going to happen on 1/6 and 1/20 than it did with floaty hearts. Tempers were pretty short in ERD at that time, and it was hard to tell who was really a freeper and who was doing their "I used to be a normal person but stress has transmogrified me into a flying monkey for the Wicked Witch of the West" act. Yeesh, I do not miss those days -- and I remember what a relief it was to get a silly chuckle or two from Oddball.

77. AMEN! December and the first part of January were insane.

Flying monkeys - indeed! :scared: That's why I stayed in ERD when y'all went to GD - I was too scared to go there... it was wall-to-wall flying monkeys in there!

I never even stuck my head in GD until last month except to kick threads. (I was on the dooooomed BBV Cleanup Crew -(Disclaimer: No Relation To Bev Harris' Organization!)- that was organized in the Voting Issues forum right after 11-04, and was an official "thread-kicker" for Eloriel, althecat and Ida Briggs.
