Want perfect health? Try magic foot pads!

OMFG. Where do I even start? What the hell is "FDA registered?" Submitted to the FDA for testing with no results? I love how under the clinicals section it says "coming soon".
Oh and its based on the same principles as what a TREE does? :wtf:
When did human physiology become the same as a fricken plant?
I saw this ad on TV today. Wow. The FDA really is slipping in keeping deceptive advertising down. I love how most woos bash the FDA for not keeping tabs on the claims of Pharmaceuticals but when it comes to homeopathic woo advertising..FDA stay away! We want our magic snake oil...:puke:

1. Do you suffer from the following vague symptoms that indicate stress?
Buy our shit!

Foot pads remove cellulite? Contain ions to 'energize your body?' So if they use the cleansing power of double distilled bamboo vinegar I can just maybe wet some rags with vinegar and strap them to my feet. Removes metabolic waste? Are they targeting people with no liver or kidneys?

This is great:
Are negative ions good for you?
Negative Ions have been shown in scientific studies to restore balance to the nervous system, boost immunity, improve metabolism, and to assist the body in healing itself naturally. It is well known that consuming more alkaline foods, i.e. fruits and vegetables, is beneficial to human health. Conversely, an acidic PH balance of the body makes the body weak and more susceptible to sickness. More acidic blood, which is caused by the loss of electrons, can be prevented by Negative Electric Ions. That’s why products that generate them have become more and more popular.

Negative ions are beneficial to human body in four major ways:

Strengthen the body's immune system
Improve the permeability of the cell's prototype plasma membranes (metabolism)
Reinforce collagen (tissues that are resilient and tension-related)
Strengthen the functions of autonomic nerves

The old acidic blood stuff. IIRC from biochem when intense muscle activity results in lactic acid production hemoglobin releases more oxygen in those tissues. I guess they are releasing OH- into your feet since that's the only negative ion that's going to affect pH.

2. OMGZZ11!!!1 I have teh deadlie tocksins in meh boddy!!!11!
 That commercial is barfable. Even better, it relies on principles of reflexology and acupuncture. That's like woo stacked on top of woo.

And, as far as I know, it doesn't mean jack shit. It means that they filled out a form, and that the FDA knows about it (and that they can claim the device is registered with the FDA). Credulous individuals who see that, though, think that means that the device has been proven to work...which is, after all, the intended effect of stating that the device is FDA registered.
