1. I didn't watch the Video...but....Yes...Vista does Suck...or at least right now...
...with the current version.

As a MCSE..I got Vista Free and I never use the damn thing except to get familiar with it ...
..in order to service someone else's computer.

XP pro is the Man!

2. You really do not like the
management features in Vista? I mean really? My god as an Admin i love it. Every GPO object under the sun finally. And UAC is something that takes getting used to it is also a great tool to have multiple user rights assignments for installs and app privileges. And the ability to remote manage volumes? you don't like that either? XP is da man, da man for old worn out technology. And sp3 aint going to change that too much.

3. What you say is very true as far as the Management features.
I should have clarified my position.
Vista is great in a network environment and has wonderful features for tasks that requires more deep configurations than the average home user...

Unfortunately, I deal (usually) on a day to day basis with the average home user that has purchased an under-powered Computer from best-buy that has 512 ram ...or 1 gig..(if I'm lucky) and in this case Vista Drags down the computer like a 79 Yugo with an Anchor attached to it's bumper.

I suppose it not Vista I should Knock but the Environment it is usually used in at the present time.

So...in answer to your post, I stand corrected. :)

4. I have 2GB in both of my Vista machines
a 3.0GHz P4 desktop (Intel D945-based DIY box) and an HP TurionX2 dualcore laptop. The laptop came with 1GB and it wasn't too poky, but 2GB is a sweet spot with Vista (Ultimate on the desktop, Home Premium on the lappy.) I serviced a Toshiba laptop with Vista Basic and 512MB...good grief that was painful. I stuck another 512 stick in it just to make it usable.

Oh, and if you really want to hose a Vista install, put Norton on it. The HP came with it...I yanked it immediately. AVG Free works just ducky and it's smaller/faster than Symantec's ungainly bloatfest.
