Sunday Kitchen.
This morning was onion, spinach and havarti omelet.

Then I went into town and did the grocery shopping.

Came home and worked on making some new earrings (my new hobby/business.)

Baked this cranberry vanilla coffee cake. I didn't have a vanilla bean so just used vanilla extract.I had some honey crisp apples I wanted to work into it so I placed slices under the cranberries and on the top, then topped with a brown sugar streusel. It's delicious! Has a nice, big tender crumb.

Made these oatmeal raisin bars, added some pecans. Bill likes them, I think they're just okay. No pics.

Then he insisted he wanted brownies, so made the King Arthur Flour Fudge Brownies. Always perfect even tho I never seem to have chocolate chips or espresso powder when I make them.

Washed all the dishes and took pics of all the earrings I made this weekend.

I'm pooped! But it feels good to have all of it done and the kitchen clean. :D

1. Looks wonderful.
How are honeycrip apples for baking? I planted a tree this past year, so I should have a lot of them in the future.

Currently, I've got Arkansas Blacks, Stayman Winesaps, Red Delicious, Karmijn da Sonnaville, and Crimson Spire as my main crop cooking apples. Each has its own properties, of course.

2. They are great for baking.
And are my favorite eating apple. Sounds like a great little orchard you've got going there. :hi:

I can't afford to order terribly expensive materials but I don't use any resin or plastic, all the metals are nickel and lead free, all the of the crystals are real crystals, most of them Swarovski, the pearls are glass. Most of the earrings sell for $8 and that last pair will sell for probably $12. I'm trying to keep them to a reasonable price point right now, and taking custom orders, until I can afford to use all sterling and gold, semi-precious and precious gems, etc. and then be able to move into doing some more artsy fartsy stuff, which is more me than the Victorian look.

I figured this would be a good way to get through winter confinement without the blues. :D

13. Smart chica! I was doing key rings with pretty bits and antique flatware bits a few years ago
Then wasn't feeling well and stopped. Maybe I should drag at all back out and play again...

14. I think you should if you feel up to it.
I like having something to occupy my time and mind during the winter, whether it be this or good books.

Did you take pics of the ones you did?

15. Nopers...No pics :(
I was selling mixed antique silver flatware sets on ebay a few years back, and had a key chain with a stainless steel piece. THEn I had the thought to make the keychains with silver plate. So... i just made the fob parts and hadn't decorated with extra bits yet. Then kaboom. So i have the parts, and would just need to see if I have enough dangly bits to finish them off. Will take a shot if I make them.

16. Cool!
Will look forward to seeing them.

Well, it's really, really cold here so I put on my flannel jammies and am heading off to the flannel sheets and fleece blankies.

Have a good night, sweets.

18. I love flannel and fleece.
I've learned to put a fleece throw as a top sheet. I have never had cold feet since I started doing that last year. My standard now is flannel bottom sheet, fleece throw, quilt, fleece blanket on top. Cozy cozy. Old flannel jammies tonight too. Nothing is better than old flannel for comfort.

21. I love flannel pjs, but I've found that if you wear flannel pjs in a bed
made with flannel sheets, it's really hard to turn over. Okay, maybe it was the 3 cats on top of me that had the covers locked down.

BTW, Monica, those are gorgeous earrings. Be sure and post them on the DU marketplace.

I know the three cat feeling very, very well.

Thank you! I have more supplies coming and need to make a bunch more and then I do plan on putting up there. We have a paypal account so I'm going to try doing it directly and see how that goes.

I'll let you all know when I do. :)

7. Thanx, Callalily.
I usually put shrooms in it, too, but I hadn't been to the grocery yet and was out. It is very frustrating not to be able to share tastes of things with each other. Maybe in our lifetime, as fast as technology seems to move these days. ;)

5. That coffeecake is the type of dish I would keep eating
all day long. First I'd cut myself a big piece and then every time I'd walk by I'd trim it a little more and a little more until it was all down the hatch! This is why I rarely make a dessert any more unless I have beau coup company coming. Looks scrumptious! Have a great week, sis! :loveya:

8. Yeah, me too.
If it weren't for Bill and his sweet tooth I certainly wouldn't have all these sweets around. Heck, most of the time I wouldn't be even eating. ;)

It's snowing here pretty good tonight. Not too much yet, maybe only an inch. I always hope it either stays this way or comes down in feet, one or the other, but it's usually just enough to be expected to be out and make it a pain to do so.

19. Hope you didn't get too much snow--or ice--to make
getting to work and back treacherous. When I lived in T-town there simply wasn't enough snow removal equipment to make any kind of difference, but then snow isn't really the problem the way ice is. No one can drive on ice, and even if you do a pretty good job of it there is always someone else who will smack into you despite your best efforts. We are due another big snow event beginning later today. They announced on the news last night that NYC area is only 1/2" away from meeting our total normal winter snowfall. It's going to be a cold, wet winter AGAIN! Stay warm and don't go out driving if you don't have to. :loveya:

30. Luckily, one of the drivers
was willing to come out and fill it even tho it was late. It cost an extra $25 cash for the driver, but we scraped up an extra $9 to give him, plied him with coffee, brownies and a pair of earrings for his wife. I was just so damned glad to see him.
