5. My grandad would have been tough, but he died before I knew for sure....
I can't think of anyone living I'd care about knowing.

10. My grandfather would have been tough too
Very religious old school Italian. He had to leave the Catholic church due to marrying a divorce but he still read the Book of Saints daily. I really think he would have had huge problems with it. I still remember our last summer together (before my senior year of high school) he was so proud of me being his first grand child to go to college. He died before I finally came to terms with being gay so I never did tell him. Part of me knows his pride in me would have greatly diminished if not disappeared once I did tell him.

8. Not coming out was never really an option for me
I tipped my hand early by just being myself before I really understoond what gay was or what the the consqences of being gay might be.

11. No.
Anyone who cannot take me for who I am does not need to be in my life. It would hurt to shut them out, but it would hurt much more to have them in it.

14. Since my grandma passed away, no.
I think it's just better for everyone involved if I don't mention it to my fundamentalist relatives.

17. Nope. Everyone knows. My grandma even kept a picture of me and an ex up long after
we broke up because "he was such a nice boy." I am not sure she ever totally knew what being gay was. She still talked about us getting married (to women) someday. :)

18. d'oh.
if anyone knows you're not the "marryin' kind" it would be your gran. After a certain age I think they've figured out life is a lot less about what you do with your pink parts and a lot more about companionship and being happy.

I wonder if your gran ever watched Will and Grace? Is she a devout crazy babtist? then who cares, tell her you think that's as crazy as she thinks your life is and it never meant you loved her any less. You'd no sooner be crazy snake healin' babtist than she'd be gay, so what does it matter?

Don't worry about what other people will think of you. They should worry about what you will think of them.
