It's 7:00pm on the west coast here in Washington STATE, and there are no FUCKING sports on.

Plus I have 4.5 hours until SNL is on. I am so fucking bored!

HELP!!

What the fuck do you do?

1. WGN Bulls & Bucks are on
but there are sports on all the time during this hour. If I had cable, I'd be watching Phoenix-San Jose hockey match which is on right now.

I don't care much about ASU baseball this year since they have a post-season ban but they are #4 in the nation.

8. I like it this way just fine..
for example, during football season, it's breakfast with football every weekend. The bulk of the EPL games start at 7:00 AM PST on Saturdays... soon as that's over, college football has started somewhere from back East. On Sundays, the NFL starts at 10:00 AM, I don't have to wait until the afternoon for some football. And MNF is over before 10 PM, none of this BS in which games last until midnight or beyond.

The main reason there is so much East Coast bias in all the sports, outside of the obvious geographical favoritism, is because most of eastern sports writers have long since gone to bed before the West Coast games end...

10. You think the West Coast is odd, look at Hawaii
NFL games start at the crack of dawn; Monday Night football in the afternoon.

I agree with Upton -- sports scheduling for the West Coast works well once you get used it.

15. That was going to be my point
Factoid: When MNF was still on ABC, the ABC affiliate obstinately refused to carry it live. So people headed to any of the 8,000 or so sports bars in town that had a satellite dish. All thoroughly illegal, of course, but no one cared.

12. Well, genius, when our teams are on, they are on in OUR evenings.
Let's see? Sonics? David Stern moved them. Mariners? Next week. It's the time of year, not that we don't have sports at night up here.

There are sporting events all the time in the evening here. But you're thinking about this ALL WRONG. Monday Night Football? Ends at 8:00 here. No falling asleep at half-time because I have a fucking job. Also, NFL starts at 10:00 here. Afternoon games are over by 4. If I blow off the night game, I can still go out and do something, not give my whole day up.

What do I do? I don't know, stuff I like. Fuck, you bitch about everywhere you go. Why don't you stay the fuck home.

14. It's very weird - though I do like the morning games.
I'm so used to games starting at 9:00 or 10:00, that when I'm back in Michigan I keep wondering when the games are going to start!

What I DON'T like are all the sports winding up so early.

And I also don't like how SNL is not live.......

16. Well - in Vegas the NFL comes on at 10 am. There is no SC football team so no blackouts
I lived in Baltimore for a year and we got the Ravens and then 1 game in the opposite time slot. Nothing else.

Here in Richmond we get 3 games. If the Skins play at 1 either the other game is not shown or the 4 pm game is not shown. Most of this is marketing to make people buy cable packages. An hour down the road in Hampton Roads they routinely get 4 games in the 1 pm and 4 pm slots.

17. What do you mean there's no sports on at 7?
That's when a game at AT&T Park begins.

How do you guys handle it when our game come on around your bedtime?

18. Being on the East Coast, that is one thing...
that I dislike about West Coast trips for the Mets. The 10:00 pm starts.
The wife and I usually get up around 5:00 am to get ourselves ready for work, the two kids ready for daycare, pack lunches, etc.

So I'm typically trying to get to sleep by 10:00 pm.
I watch maybe the first inning or two if they are playing the Dodgers, but otherwise I have to miss the game.

21. Well, it works out the opposite for us on the west coast.
A 7:00 game starts at 4:00, when people working, attending kids sports or other activities, etc... So we tend to miss the east coast games, just like you miss the west coast games.
