1. The story is wrong. Perseus is taking on the role of Orpheus.
Perseus killed the gorgon to save Princess Andromeda. Orpheus goes to Hades to get Eurydice back.

Now, this synopsis for the new film...

Perseus (Sam Worthington) leads a band of warriors in a war with Hades (Ralph Feinnes), to destroy his plan to take over the Earth from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and save his family.

Sounds like a Greek Mythology Cuisinart, with a bit of 300 thrown in for box office.

3. I remember that part in the Metamorphoses where Perseus tamed Pegasus
And then used Medusa's head to kill Kraken the giant octopus-fish.

Yeah, the first film was dead-on accurate!

5. Eh, you got a point... they did co-opt norse mythology with the Kraken.

And... it's supposed to be an octopus, not a... whatever it was. Amazing that The Pirates of the Caribbean got it right.

Metamorphosis? Isn't that about a guy who turns into a cockroach in his bed?

4. With that haircut, Sam Worthington looks like he's making an iraq war movie.

10. I'm sensing a trend here
I saw the trailer for this film and "Prince of Persia" when I went to see "The Book of Eli"

What's with all the great actors starring in goofy movies? Is there a writers' strike? Are good scripts that hard to come by? Or are these actors just greedy as fuck?

The worst-Liam Neeson in the friggin' A-TEAM MOVIE????????????

11. Lian Neeson isn't new to goofy movies

The Haunting comes to mind. What's funny is Sir Larence Olivier played Zeus in the original COTT!
