Fox at the Oscars: Homosexuality among the "darker themes this year"
http://mediamatters.org/items/200603060004

While introducing a segment on the 78th Annual Academy Awards on the March 5 edition of Fox News' Fox News Live, anchor Gregg Jarrett noted that the films nominated in the Best Picture category dealt with themes such as "homosexuality; homicide bombings; political assassinations," and that Hollywood was "going with a lot of darker themes this year." As Jarrett spoke, onscreen text read: "Hollywood walks on the darker side."

From the March 5 edition of Fox News' Fox News Live:

JARRETT: They're the best movies of the year, allegedly. Most of us, though, haven't seen them. Films dealing with homosexuality; homicide bombings; political assassinations -- the list goes on and on. Hollywood, going with a lot darker themes this year, and they're courting some controversy.

4. I agree. Hollywood should deal with lighter issues
like blowing up abortion clinics and slaughtering health care workers, or blowing up federal buildings, or destroying the constitution based on religion, or people wearing hoods hanging minority members from trees in the woods of South Mississippi. Those happy themes would pack the movie houses with "real" flag waving Americans.

8. Shhhhhh. It's a big secret.
You see, as long as it's culturally verboten, then they can use it as both an initiation rite and blackmail. I wonder who the keeper of the Polaroids is?

12. Most people don't see ANY movie. . .
besides, they are just ticked off because Brokeback Mountain has grossed enough that it is now ranked as the #5 all-time grossing WESTERN and has passed The English Patient to rest at #8 in the all-time highest grossing romantic dramas. . .

That has to make some of their heads explode.

Now if Hollywood would just make a movie about a fake news organization that propagandizes as a branch of the Saudi monarchy and the Republican party. . .THAT would be a dark picture.
