To the Believers
I am honored to be among all of you on the eve of this new year. You have inspired me, you have empowered me and you have given me faith that despite the odds, obstacles and naysayers, we will win.

"There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other."

We believe because what we visualize is what we will achieve.

Here's to all you believers :toast:

I pass on this message from IAMREALITY... "To my friends at DU, I miss you and I wish you all a Happy New Year"

3. Happy New Year to you seito
I set here day after day feeling a little blue and I get on here and love to read all the DU posts. Then I feel a little better. I do not agree with some, but am able to respect their views. I think in many ways we just have heartfelt feelings of what the country is or should be. Some of us do not want to give up our dreams.

these are references to the old TV show "Leave it to Beaver", which if you've never seen it was a classic family sitcom that was funny and almost "hip", although "hip" wasn't used that way back then.

CW and I aren't related by DNA, but like so many of us here, we share the kinship of NGU.

Everyone here at DU shares a common goal...to protect and defend our Constitution and to fight for the integrity of our democracy! Although we've experienced some gut-wrenching "lows"...our faith, determination and constant search for justice has taken me, personally, to a level of intensity I have never known. For this I am eternally grateful! Your positive energy is contagious! Ours is a journey of great consequence and I believe that only good can come from our efforts. Thank you, seito. This is a great way to end 2004 and help kick off the new year.

I believe that 2005 is John Kerry's year, I really do. I also believe we're going to have fun (in a rollercoaster fashion, alternating between an adrenalin rush and nausea) watching this year not be Junior's year.

Hope

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
-- Emily Dickinson

"How wrong Emily Dickinson was! Hope is not the 'thing with feathers.' The thing with feathers has turned out be my nephew. I must take him to a specialist in Zurich."

My belief, faith and hope is not tied to any person or group of people. It is not tied to any specific date or event.

I Believe and I will continue to believe through the ups and downs of this bitter battle in which we are engaged. I know that we will win, I can feel it, I can see it and I can taste it :9

It is 2005 and I still Believe, the alternative is simply not acceptable.

Let me guess you voted for Bush and were you not pleasantly surprised on Nov 3 when you woke up to find Bush had won. I know Bush croney Prime Minister Tony Blair said he thought when he went to bed that Kerry had won, but was surprised ( along with the rest of the world who did not know about the cheating) that Bush had "won."

I'd really love to hear exactly how you beleive that this is going to happen. Please give me a play by play of how this will unfold over the next week and enable Kerry to take office.

I'm simply trying to understand how Kerry is going to take office. I don't see how it can happen. But if everyone is so sure about this happening and there are ways for it to happen, please explain how I'm wrong and maybe I'll change my mind.

126. no one knows for sure
it's called possibility + hope + justice = Kerry takes office.

we are actually at a kind of 'uncertain' stage right now, because we still need to hear from the U.S. Circuit Court where Kerry/Cobb filed the motion/lawsuit to secure machines and ballots, etc to inspect for tampering. There are so many fronts going on right now that are not complete so it is really hard to tell which one, if any, are going to have an effect.

Edited on Sat Jan-01-05 04:19 PM by keepthemhonest
Plan A
Step one - we all write, fax call senators and urge them to contest the electoral vote.Have you done this yet? That is Ok I have sent enough for me and about 250 other people.

step two -have congress contest the vote- we have been putting alot of pressure on the senators and some admitted that in 2000 the only reason they did not contest the electionwas because nobody asked them to. That is not an issue this time around.

step three-Someone else takes office until they can prove the legitimacy of the election.

step four They are already piling up eveidence of fraud and voter suppression has been documented
Exibit 1 exit polls ( if you don't get that ,your simply not good at math.)
exibit 2 Tampering with electronic voting machines

exibit 3 Voter suppression seen on tape and heavily documented.

Exibit 4 Scientific study (non biased) done on election day as people exited and asked them questions about their voting experience and problems encountered.

step five Bush will be impeached and possibly go to jail

step 6 Kerry gets the position that he won, Presidency of the United States

Plan B(woops wrong) do nothing and nothing will happen

Anyway, my Senators are Spector and Santorum (I'm in PA). I live on the border of Cumberland (voted 64% for Bush) and Franklin Counties (voted 72% for Bush). That's one reason I'm on this forum. I'm surrounded by Republicans.

137. That makes no sense.........
So the first post stated we were going "to win" and I ask what the poster was saying we were going to win and you are saying that I sidetracked the thread by asking the question and should have gone elsewhere for the answer?

Sorry, I don't see how that makes any sense.

141. It's simple
Dreams are just dreams
When they're stuck inside your head
And all it takes is a little help from you
You know it's true
That dreams are for real
When you see what I see
And you feel it too
We took the longest road
Just to make it harder
Let's do it all again
It only makes us stronger

Dreams
I guess we're just made of dream
Nothin' else matters
As long as we believe
I'm lookin' at you
And I see my life
Passing before my eyes
And when the journey's over
And all my dreams come true
I'll dream of you

What do you see
When you look inside your heart
A little thought
Can walk a thousand miles
And change your life
When dreams lead the way
The impossible is suddenly in sight
Every step you take
Just brings it all together
You gotta keep the faith
When all seems lost forever

You're the one
That keeps my hope alive
My vision clear
I'll spend my life with you
Conquer fear
We'll make it through

Nothin' else matters
As long as we believe
I'm lookin' at you
And I see my life
Passing before my eyes
And when the journey's over
And all my dreams come true
I'll dream of you

135. Can I take a stab at answering your question...
We Believe that battles are never won without visualizing the victory. This thread is dedicated to all those that keep the vision alive.

So, your question, "What do we expect to win?"

Class warrior answered "It All" To me, that is the perfect answer. We visualize the ultimate downfall of the Bush Family Evil Empire. We visualize our question "What Are They Hiding?" answered live on Faux News as poor little Katherine sits before the Grand Jury. We visualize an end to corporate controlled media and a re-birth of free and independent media. We visualize a movement of ordinary Americans, united in one common goal. We will not stand down until we win.

"The win" is not about one man, or one event, or one date. "The win" is what we will achieve when we commit to never giving up. This thread is dedicated to those believers that have embraced winning and have committed to never giving up the fight.

That is all, Kerry on :)

I searched for something to support your statement and found nothing. Could it be that you simply made it up yourself and didn't base it on anything (you know, anything grounded in "realism" like you stated above)?

Don't get me wrong, you weren't intenionally being malicious. Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Thanks anyway.

I asked you how your step three was possible, "Someone else takes office until they can prove the legitimacy of the election."

I asked what laws you were relying on. You told me "you couldn't teach me everything" and to find it myself.

I asked others in the thread I posted and they confirmed that you're wrong. There is no justification for your "step 3".

Posting the line of succession to the presidency has nothing to do with it.

You were wrong. Suck it up.

149. ok, to answer your question plain and simple
Edited on Sat Jan-01-05 07:32 PM by Faye
what are we going to win?

OUR DEMOCRACY BACK. OUR COUNTRY BACK. WHEN? SOON, OR EVEN SOONER. DAYS, MONTHS, WEEKS, YEARS, WE DON'T KNOW 100% BUT WE BELIEVE IT WILL BE SOON, FAITH SO STRONG THAT IT COULD BE DAYS.

the problem is, you might disagree. but that is the point of belief, that is the point of faith, it is based on positivity, hope, justice, and patience.

I don't know what else to say that will satisfy you. And if that doesn't satisfy you, then I'm afraid you won't find the answer you are looking for, and there is nothing further I can do for you.

151. Well, that's better than your first answer to my question which was....
... "THE EFFIN' LOTTERY".

"I don't know what else to say that will satisfy you. And if that doesn't satisfy you, then I'm afraid you won't find the answer you are looking for, and there is nothing further I can do for you."

Why are you acting as though I'm being so hard to satisfy? I initally asked a simple question and was treated like sh*t for it. I simply asked EXACTLY what the poster was referring to in saying we were going to WIN and people became hostile smart as*es, called me names, told me I hijacked the thread, etc, etc.

And you know what else? Other's have given different answers from you as to what "we are going to win". It seems that each person read something different into it and started agreeing with each other without knowing exactly what they were agreeing about. You say it meant we are going to win our democracy and country back, someone else said it specifically meant Kerry is going to become president.

153. the problem is that the thread was dedicated to 'the believers'
and the 'believers' are those who frequently post in the 'I Believe' thread, which is why most here thought what was to be 'won' was simply 'understood'.

For you, one of my favorites...

To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children, to earn the approbation of honest critics; to appreciate beauty; to give of one's self, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived--that is to have succeeded.

Monkey is in the Metal group. So 2004 was a Metal year. 2005 is the Green Chicken (rooster)year. Chicken is in the Metal group, too. So 2005 is a Metal year again. This means 2005 is the continuation of previous Metal cycle. Most of people should have about the same luck in 2005 as in 2004. If you have unfinished business in 2004, then you need to continue to deal with it during 2005.

I've been gone all day for a New Year's party. Had lots of fun but there
were some Republicans there and they got me down. Not that I would discuss any of my beliefs with them, it just wasn't the time. One of them actually said, I kid you not, 'that Kerry did not deserve to win because of his chin, anybody with a chin like that should not be the President'

WTF, it was my friend's new house and her first party in her new neighb. so I could not get froggy with this person like I wanted to.....

However, I am so happy to be back to talk to my fellow believers. I need a fix of 'I believe' 2005 style.

I believe. I am so grateful to have a place to come to, to shut out all the noise and negativity from people who don't understand why or how strongly I believe.

We can make this happen. I believe we will.

'In a democratic society some are guilty, but all are responsible.'

I forget who said that, a famous rabbi I think. If we do not fight for our democracy who will be ultimately responsible if we lose it.

I believe we can get it back. We must save our country from tyranny.

I believe it will be a very Happy New Year!!!1
