Perry’s Emails: Dive in!
The Texas Observer has a post on the continuing saga of John Washburn (A DU poster now) and his request for Perry's e-mails. They got the goods.

Ever wanted to read the governor’s email? Now’s your chance.

Milwaukee open records activist John Washburn has posted the first received batch of Gov. Rick Perry’s staff emails — minus the correspondence which the governor’s people are appealing to the state attorney general’s office.

The emails were sent or received by Perry’s office (according to Washburn’s request): "on or after 12:00 am (midnight) Friday, November 2, 2007 and received before 12:00 am (midnight) Tuesday, November 6, 2007."

They say "happy hunting", I'll say "good hunting" like they do in Battlestar Galactica

I'm guessing Perry's people will withhold or 'disappear' the more damaging emails.

Perry staff e-mails reveal candid exchanges
Wisconsin man's requests force governor to save snark-filled e-mails.

ASSOCIATED PRESS
Friday, January 25, 2008

E-mails released by Gov. Rick Perry's office to an open government activist reveal candid and sometimes heated exchanges among staffers, other state officials and political power brokers in which current and former lawmakers are referred to as racist and evil.

The e-mails were first obtained by John Washburn, a computer consultant who lives near Milwaukee, Wis. They were obtained Wednesday by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

(snip)
In one series of e-mail exchanges, aides passed around a news article about state Sen. Judith Zaffirini, D-Laredo.

In the Texas Weekly article, one of Zaffirini's opponents, former Webb County Judge Louis Bruni, calls the longtime senator an "evil, vindictive, mean woman."

Someone on the e-mails calls former Ron Wilson a racist! Yes, that Ron Wilson who served as Craddick's parlimentarian during his dictatorial hold out to keep the chair at the end of the session.

4. Old Wilsy??
The one they called Bubba in the Houston Chronicle in the 1990s when he delivered the message to the press that white folks weren't allowed into a meeting?
